THE FRIENDS OF THE CEA

An association conforming to the law of 1901

In 1996, an association conforming to the French charity laws (law 1901), the "Amis du CEA", was created in order that the general public could follow the work of the Centre d'Etudes Alexandrines and support its efforts in the rediscovery of the Ptolemaic capital town.

The ACEA invites you to :

  • Join the association and become part of the movement to preserve Alexandria's heritage.
  • Sponsor some aspect of a dig, a restoration, a mission.
  • Contribute to the financing of technical equipment required by the CEA.
  • Organise an event (lecture, photo exhibition, film screening) to raise funds for the CEA.
  • Plan a trip to Alexandria. A few days would be sufficient to discover the ancient sites, actual excavations as well as Alexandria's more recent architectural heritage. A welcome within the CEA and guided visits can be arranged.
